Beginner win: first shiitake flush with tonogodhime!

Just wanted to share a small success because I lurked here a lot while I was getting started. I inoculated 12 oak logs last spring and stacked them in tonogodhime (alternating layers, no leaning, no wire). I made two little stacks, each one a square "log cabin" using 2x2 layers right on the ground.

This week I got my first real flush! Not a massive harvest or anything, but enough for dinner and it felt like magic seeing them pop out all around the sides. I like that I didn't have to build anything extra and I can spot mushrooms without moving logs.

I know it's still early and I have a lot to learn, but I'm pretty pumped.

Love these posts. Congrats! Did you do anything special to trigger it or just let spring do its thing?

Mostly just spring weather. I gave them a longer soak once when we had a warm spell, but nothing fancy.
