I keep seeing "tonogodhime" and I thought it meant a rack with posts. Do I need to build a frame before I
stack my shiitake logs, or is it just a way of piling them? I am confused by the pictures.
No posts needed. Tonogodhime is self-supporting: you lay two logs side by side, then the next layer turns
90 degrees and sits across them. Repeat the alternating layers and it makes a square stack that holds itself
up. It sits directly on the ground. Those details matter because the ground contact helps keep moisture steady
and the crossed layers create airflow without extra hardware.
